I am Key Stage 1 Leader and one of the school’s Assistant Headteachers. I am an experienced teacher will over 24 years of experience in the foundation stage and key stage 1. This is my 16th year at St. Andrew’s. I thoroughly enjoy working at St Andrew’s and the staff team are passionate about developing each child as an individual.  I have two children Jacob 17 and Sophia 14 who both attended St Andrew’s. In my spare time I enjoy going camping in my camper van, walking my dog, Cooper and supporting my own children in their chosen sports of football and Jujitsu.

I am looking forward to supporting the children to grow and learn and I aim to provide a challenging and enjoyable curriculum. I believe in working in partnership with parents and aim to keep parents well informed about their child’s learning. One way this will happen is through the use of the Class Dojo system. There will also be opportunities throughout the year for parents and carers to come into school to find out what their children have been learning.

I look forward to teaching this year’s topics which are:

Autumn 1 – James Hargreaves and the Spinning Jenny

Autumn 2 – Our School Grounds

Spring 1 – Ambitious Individuals

Spring 2 –  Our Local Area

Summer 1- The Great Fire of London

Summer 2- Hot and Cold

Miss S Fox

I have been with St Andrew's for over two years. While I know the importance of the core subjects, I really enjoy the more creative side of learning. I love History, Art and RE. In my spare time I like to paint, read, watch movies, play video games and spend time with my friends and family. when I am not doing any of those I really enjoy taking part in Living History events.

Miss Archer

I have worked at St Andrew's for 13 years. I have worked  in EYFS, Year 1 and now Year 2. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my two boys, my family and going on walks with my dog, Hollie. My favourite subjects at school are Guided Reading and English.

Miss Allen

I am Miss Allen. I am going into my 16th year at St Andrew's. During my time here, I have worked across all year groups, gaining lots of knowledge and experience. On a personal note, I spend most of my spare time at the side of a football pitch watching my two boys or in the stands at Blackburn Rovers watching the men's game. I dont't have a particular favourite subject, although I do enjoy PE and Art. I love to travel and my favourite thing to do is travel and explore new countries.

Homework

The children will be bringing home a reading book. We ask that you sit with your child and support them to read this fluently. A second book will be chosen by your child form the school library and can be changed daily. This is a reading for pleasure book to share with an adult. Rewards are given to the children for choosing to read at home.

Key dates to remember

Your child’s PE lessons will take place on a Monday and Wednesday meaning children need to bring in their PE kits every Monday or be left in school. Full PE kit is expected during lessons with pumps that fit in case we decide to work outside and no jewellery is to be worn on this day.

At St Andrew’s we have an open door policy. If you have anything that you would like to discuss, please don’t hesitate to come into school and speak to us.
